Default Ranger/Monk

I want to be a Ranger. At first I was thinking of just Ranger. But after concidering my options I decided to go with Monk as secondary. But I think I am going to give it a extra twist!

Attributes:
Expertise
Marksmenship
Protection Prayers

And I don't know how to do the numbers and such to the attributes.

And here are my 8 attacks:

Escape {E} - For 5-15 seconds, you move 25% faster than normal, and have a 75% chance to "evade" attacks.

Penetrating Attack - If this attack hits, you strike for +3-15 damage and this attack has 20% armor penetration.

Determined Shot - If Determined Shot hits, you strike for +3-15 damage. If Determined Shot fails to hit, all your attack skills are recharged.

Read the Wind - For 12 seconds, your arrows move faster than normal, and deal 3-9 extra damage.

Hunter's Shot - If Hunter's Shot hits, you strike for +3-13 damage. If this attack hits a moving foe, that foe begins bleeding for 3-21 seconds.

Pin Down - If Pin Down hits, your target is "Crippled" for 3-13 seconds.

Vital Blessing - While you maintain this "Enchantment", target ally has +40-168 maximum health.

Reversal of Fortune - The next time target ally would take damage, that ally gains that amount of health instead, maximum 15-67

Now I havn't ever played RPG yet.. But here's my plan. I will be on the offensive in a distance and inbetween I will get back and heal and protect my ally. This is my idea. Please if any improvements let me know!

Well first of all, if you want to heal your ally, you are gonna need a heal spell. That spell you picked heals him for the damage he got hit, which is useful, but its not actually gonna heal him when he DOES get hurt. You see what I mean?

But I thought this one would do it?

No, that gives your target more overall health while you maintain that spell. For example If your target normall had 300 health, with that spell on him he could have as much as 468, but that has nothing to do with healing him.

See what I mean? I think you just inocently misunderstood the spell. Pick one with "Heal" in the name, and it'll be more useful.

Well,... you are using protection prayers, so why not use rebirth? If you are going to roleplay you will need some kind of a rezz in your travels. As far as PvE goes, rebirth is the best option available. Teleport and rezz your ally to your side, out of harms way giving you enough time to take stock of your bad situation and figure how to re-approach your mission without having to give up entirely if you are the only one left standing.

Another option is to switch your attribute from protection to healing and sub a healing skill ( say heal party for example) in there instead of the enchantment on ally (reversal of fortune). And you could still insert rebirth. It doesn't suffer with zero attributes in PvE.

Thank you for pointing that out. I will change in ASAP!

Theres not that meaning healing so I am just going to protect.

Rebirth - Resurrect target party member, teleporting him to your current location. All of target's skills are disabled for 10~4 seconds. This spell consumes all your remaining Energy

Reversal of Fortune - The next time target ally would take damage, that ally gains that amount of health instead, maximum 15-67

I played a Ranger/Monk and there tuff stuff Except i used my pet quite alot, i had three skills up for him then 2 monks and 3 for ranger. I used barrage ALOT works awesomely for crowd control especially during PvE soloing, and of course rez spell and a heal. Now i would suggest you have three seperate plans for your skills, PvP, PvE(solo) and PvE(grouped). And actually a 4th perhaps with just assist skills, as healing and perhaps poison and traps, thing of that sort depending on whether or not your team can find a healer. Also keep in mind if you intend on keeping a pet around you have to have Charm Animal up constantly(which suxors).

I say that because if I did.. I could cofuse on my Ranger skills instead of having to throw in a secondary. Personally when I get my game more then likly I will just be Ranger but I am still looking at options!

i think it would be good to have a ranger/monk for missions because you are ranged attackers you could heal and have a good chance of survival and could revive as needed

There is nothing wrong with going without a secondary profession Nyte.

Consider this though. If you decide to make a PvP only character, you WILL need a secondary on your PvE to unlock even more skills throughout the game for use by your PvP character. Not to mention, just because you have the secondary on your RP character doesn't mean you have to sink points into it at all. Just consider it as Futures Investing. Whatever gets unlocked that you don't use is still available for whatever PvP character you come up with at some point.

Just because you have a secondary doesn't mean you have 2 use it that much do you?

Correct. For instance I'm a Ranger/Necro. I only use 2 Necro skills period. I'm mostly all ranger.

In that instance I am thinking of meaning a Ranger/Elementist. Using Earth Magic. I will post my skills after looking over the Elementist 1st.

But until then I have a question. Can you have one {E} attack from each of you proffesions? Or just 1 period?
